This was first made for a family member who had a scalp so itchy they went to bed with olive oil and cling wrap around their head. It took 6 months of trialling until we banished the cling wrap to the kitchen for good.
Our Scalp Friendly Milk Shampoo has now become one of our most popular products. Read our 'We got mail" page to see how much it has helped people with scalp problems. We use natural ingredients combined with ingredients to control the micro-flora of the scalp that can cause scalp problems for many adults and children. pH balanced. Natural Cleansers. Bottle size is 500ml.
Suitable for adults through to babies. We list all of our ingredients on our website so you can do your research, not only the prettiest ones.

Ingredient | Description |
Aqua | When we were told that we have to call our purified water Aqua we thought they were kidding. But we cant fight bureaucracy. So we arent trying to be fancy, but we do need to call our water Aqua sometimes. |
Decyl Glucoside (Glucose Derived Cleanser) | Glucosides are cleansers derived from mixing glucose with a fatty alcohol. They are generally acknowledged as the most gentle cleansers available. The downsides of glucosides are they do not foam well and there are other problems that make them difficult to formulate. However, for our own scalp we didnt really care about the foam, we simply wanted the most gentle cleanser we could find. |
Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Coconut Derived Cleanser) | We blend this cleanser in with the others to increase the foam building as people do expect a shampoo to have a nice creamy foam, as well as clean effectivly. |
Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate (Coconut Derived Cleanser) | This is a coconut derived cleanser which chose because it is very good at cleaning the oil from hair while not irritating the skin on the scalp. It has a couple of other benefits too; including being from renewable sources and also has a reputation for leaving the hair silky smooth due to the fact that is an amino acid based cleanser. |
Sodium Lauroamphoacetate (Coconut Derived Cleanser) | We add this cleanser as it is a very good cleanser and so ensures that hair is cleaned effectivly and not left lank or heavy. |
Behentrimonium Methosulfate (Canola Derived De-Tangler) | Rapeseed Oil Derived Detangler. Terrible name but one of the best natural conditioners for the hair. Most conditioners use silicone (cycolmethicone or dimethicone) to coat the hair in slipperiness which can also cause build-up. We use this ingredient in combination with Jojoba Oil instead. |
Lauryl Glucoside (Glucose Derived Cleanser) | Glucosides are cleansers derived from mixing glucose with a fatty alcohol. They are generally acknowledged as the most gentle cleansers available. The downsides of glucosides are they do not foam well and there are other problems that make them difficult to formulate. However, for our own scalp we didnt really care about the foam, we simply wanted the most gentle cleanser we could find. |
Cetearyl Alcohol (Plant Based Emulsifying Wax) | Typically used as an emulsifier, here it stabilizes and thickens the shampoo without harshness or heaviness. |
Glyceryl Oleate (Natural Ester) | Derived from Glycerin, this helps condition the skin and scalp. |
Coco-Glucoside (Glucose Derived Cleanser) | Glucosides are cleansers derived from mixing glucose with a fatty alcohol. They are generally acknowledged as the most gentle cleansers available. The downsides of glucosides are they do not foam well and there are other problems that make them difficult to formulate. However, for our own scalp we didnt really care about the foam, we simply wanted the most gentle cleanser we could find. |
Piroctone Olamine | Piroctone Olamine is an anti-yeast ingredient. Non-irritating, it helps keep the cream free from bacteria and mould. |
Allantoin | Comfrey Root has long been known as a calming plant. Allantoin was identified as the part of the plant that performed this function and it has since been synthesised to make it more concentrated and effective. So the allantoin we use is the pure ingredient. |
Hydrolysed Milk Protein | This helps ensure the hair is smooth and silky. For people with Lactose intolerance this is no problem. However for people that are allergic to Milk Protein itself, this ingredient would not be suitable. If in doubt, all natural products should be patch tested before use. |
Fragrant Oil (Phthlate Free) | We used to use various Essential Oils in our Milky Shampoo, Conditioner and Milk Wash. EOs are great if we could talk to each customer and check for allergies. Due to the occasional reaction to EOs, we removed them. We want to sooth people scalps and even a very small number of reactions to EOs was distressing for us. But people still want their hair to smell nice. So we worked with another company to develop phthalate free fragrant oil (phthalates are the things in fragrances that a lot of people dont like) and since then the response has been great. |
