Almost all Acne Creams use Benzoyl Peroxide Bleach. This is why hair will bleach to an orange colour when in contact with most Acne creams. Bleaches are cheap but not the first choice in keeping skin looking young and healthy. Acne is usually around for a short time, but the skin on our face is forever. So we need to take care of it.
Acne has a number of causes, including sebum (skin's oil) becoming rancid as well as bacteria on the skin. This is why an effective cleansing cream, that targets both contributors to Acne using natural ingredients is so much better than bleach in our opinion. That is why we set to work trying to find a solution that was good for the skin.
MooGoo's Acne Cleansing Cream takes a new approach. It is a cleansing cream that also works as a leave on moisturiser. This keeps skin healthy and young looking by using a high quality natural cream packed full of anti-oxidants, rather than chemicals. Other parts of the formulation help prevent excess oils on the skin becoming rancid which can be a cause of Acne as well as cleanse the skin of bacteria.
We suggest applying the Acne Cleansing Cream each morning and night after washing and while the skin is still slightly moist. Everyone’s skin is different, but of our customer Guinea Pig testers, 13 out of 15 reported real results after around a week. The cream is not designed for instant results on existing acne as bleach can do, but to help prevent the need for bleaching products after a week.
It may cost a few dollars more than a bleach based cream, but healthy skin is priceless.
This is a radically different way of helping acne prone skin without causing damage. If you would like to see if this product may suit you, please visit our facebook site here which has the comments from our acne prone volunteers who tested the cream for us when we first formulated it. We hope it will help you decide if it is for you.

|Aqua||When we were told that we have to call our purified water “Aqua” we thought they were kidding. But we can’t fight bureaucracy. So we aren’t trying to be fancy, but we do need to call our water “Aqua” sometimes.|
|Squalene (Olive)||One of our favourite moisturising oils. It helps leave your skin moisturised and dewy. It is good for all skin types, including acne prone skin.
Our body produces a small amount of squalene, but the amount diminishes when we get older, starting in our twenties. Squalene is required for our skin to keep it moisturised and fight aging. It is also a unique antioxidant from olives that protects our skin from free-radical damages.
Since Olive squalene's composition is very similar to human sebum, it can penetrate our skin very quickly to help our skin to fight dryness. It enhances skin elasticity and moisture retention.
|Cetearyl Alcohol||Creams are made from a mix of purified water and oils so as to be more moisturising than oil alone. To hold water and oils together, they need an emulsifying wax. We use a plant based wax that allows the water and oils to stay together.|
|Prunus armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil||Apricot kernel oil is a finely textured oil and is easily absorbed by the skin, without leaving it feeling oily or greasy. Apricot kernel oil is particularly helpful for dehydrated, delicate, mature and sensitive skin and it helps to soothe inflammation. Apricot Kernel Oil is rich in oleic and linoleic essential fatty acids.|
|Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil||Grape Seed Oil is light oil and is excellent for moisturising the skin. Grape seed oil is is very high in antioxidants and contains high amounts of vitamin E, vitamin C, Beta-Carotene, and vitamin D.|
|Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil||Jojoba Oil is one of the most moisturising skin care oils around and is one of our all-time favourite moisturising oils. It is light and sinks into the skin easily. Curiously, Jojoba Oil is actually a liquid wax. It is also very non comedogenic meaning that it does not clog the pores. It makes for a good conditioner too. It helps keep the hair shaft smooth and soft. Most hair conditioners use silicone to coat the hair (cyclomethicone or dimethicone), however Jojoba Oil is much more natural and moisturising and doesn’t cause so much build-up.|
|Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract (Standardized Green Tea ECGC)||Green Tea Extract. Green Tea is well known for its strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actives.|
|Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5)||This amazing pro-vitamin has natural broad abilities to moisturise, soothe, heal and regenerate the skin.|
|Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice||Most people already know the healing and soothing benefits of Aloe Vera. We loved it before we made skin care, and we love it in our creams.|
|Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Fractionated Coconut)||We used coconut oil as a stabiliser, it also helps to moisturise the skin|
|Dimethyl sulfone (MSM Organic Sulphur)||MSM is an Organic Sulphur compound which is present in every cell of the body. MSM has been proven to be a great skin softener and soothing compound for irritated skin. Studies have shown it also helps improve the production of collagen and keratin and is often used in many anti-ageing cosmetic applications. It is non-toxic and promotes healthy skin for all types.|
|Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil||Sunflower Oil is rich in vitamins A, D, especially vitamin E and essential fatty acids. Sunflower oil has a light texture making it very comfortable on babies’ skin.|
|Polysorbate 60 (Food Grade Emulsifier)||A lot of our customers are small. So small in fact that they have sometimes mistaken the creams their mums or dad’s put on the nappy change table for food. So we always choose the most edible ingredients we can. Polysorbates are used in a lot of foods like Mayonnaise, Ice-cream etc to hold the cream and water together. We use them to help with the same thing.|
|Resveratrol (Japanese Knotweed Extract)||A new ingredient, Resveratrol may be an important additive to skin products to reduce the risks of skin cancer, according to recent studies.|
|Piroctone Olamine||Piroctone Olamine is an anti-yeast ingredient. Non-irritating, it also helps keep the cream free from bacteria and mould.|
|Hydrolyzed Milk Protein||Cognis research found that milk protein in a cream increased skin elasticity by around 20% compared to the same cream without. Skin elasticity ensures lines and wrinkles are minimized after any movement of the skin.
For people with Lactose intolerance this is no problem. However for people that are allergic to Milk Protein itself, this ingredient would not be suitable. If in doubt, all natural products should be patch tested before use.
|Allantoin||Comfrey Root has long been known as a healing plant. Allantoin was identified as the part of the plant that performed this function and it has since been synthesised to make it more concentrated and effective. So the allantoin we use is the pure ingredient. Allantoin has been termed a cell proliferant in texts such as the "United States Dispensatory". It is said to clean away dead tissue, hastening the growth of new healthy tissue. Allantoin has been also termed a counter irritant. Allantoin produces its desirable effects by promoting and speeding up the healthy, natural processes of the body. It helps the skin to help itself. It is also promoted as preventing lines and wrinkles by assisting skin repair.|
|Whey Protein||We use an ingredient that combines some fatty acids with a type of whey protein which acts to control bacteria on the skin. This is a natural and health way of helping acne prone skin.|
|Coconut Acid||This is a fatty acid. Fatty acids are the “good acids” in our bodies, like Omega 3 Fatty Acids. The type of coconut fatty acid we use helps prevent bacteria on the skin in a natural way. Fatty acids are also used in anti-ageing preparations as well, so that is an extra benefit.|
|Palm Acid||This is a fatty acid. Fatty acids are the “good acids” in our bodies, like Omega 3 Fatty Acids. The type of coconut fatty acid we use helps prevent bacteria on the skin in a natural way. Fatty acids are also used in anti-ageing preparations as well so that is an extra benefit.|
|Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate (Stabilised Vitamin C)||Anti-Oxidants help prevent skin oxidisation and so in theory can help prevent the signs of ageing. The difficulty is developing ingredients that can stay stable long enough to penetrate the skin to work their magic. Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate is the latest and most expensive form of the Vitamin C anti-oxidant. It also helps with pigmentation. A typical study is shown here.|
|Tocopheol (Natural Vitamin E)||We use the more expensive, natural Vitamin E in our creams, not synthetic. Natural Vitamin E has up to twice the bioavailability of synthetic forms. Vitamin E has antioxidant action as well as free radical scavenger properties. Abundant assortments of researchers from diversified medical fields have theorized that this can slow the aging process. (Sources: Skin Pharmacology and Applied Skin Physiology, November-December 2001, and Free Radical Biology and Medicine, October 1999).|
|Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract||Although some claim skin firming properties, we really use this as an edible way to make our creams smell nice. We use Hops to preserve our cream and Vanilla and Apple combine well with the Hops to keep our creams smelling nice.|
|Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Extract||Cosmetic creams need to stay pure from bacteria. That is why ingredients like Parabens etc are used by a lot of companies. These work great at achieving their aim, but a lot of our “customers” are very young children. Sometimes accidents happen and so we aim to make our creams as food like as possible. We worked for over a year to develop a preservation system based on Hop Extract. All our creams have now been checked for preservative efficacy using the British Pharmacopeia test. We are very proud that we are probably one of the first companies to develop this natural and edible anti-bacterial system into our creams.|
